Until electronic image stabilization, high-powered binoculars were nearly useless on a moving boat—at much more than 6 or 7 X on all but the calmest water, the image just wouldn't stay still. But these high-power center-focus binoculars lock on to subjects and moving targets for steady images, even from a bouncing or rolling boat.
Twice The Magnification of Standard Binoculars
These binoculars boast 14x magnification<\m>twice that of most standard binoculars. The 40mm objective lens provides remarkable light transmission (85% light transmission efficiency), even in dim conditions, while the 13mm eye relief benefits eyeglass wearers. Lenses with fully-coated optics are individually focused. Includes a handstrap and a waterproof case. ±5° vibration protection. Runs on 4 AA batteries (included) or a 12–28V DC external power source (sold separately). Waterproof with Roof prisms. Field of View: 342'@1,000yds. One year limited warranty.Physical and Performance

We dive, hunt, and fish. These are great to keep watch on our divers, watching the animals come in for hunting to identify age and gender, and spotting birds and debris fishing.
We have had ours for 5 years and use them all the time. Battery life last 6 months.

Comments about 14x40 Techno Stabi Image Stabilizing Binoculars:
I'm using these for offshore fishing in southern california. They are great for spotting terns, kelp paddies, and fish feeding at the surface. They seem to be very well designed and built: waterproof, rubber to prevent them from sliding around on the console, overall very high quality. The Pelican case is excellent.
Cons: They are a bit heavy, so we trade-off spotting duties when offshore. They are a bit expensive, but worth the money.
Surprises: They come from Fujinon Japan, and then are repackaged by Fujinon USA (NJ) into a Pelican case and Pelican package. I was surprised by the packaging so called Fujinon to confirm that the binoculars I received were new, not refurbished. Why doesn't Fujinon USA invest in their own packaging?

Comments about 14x40 Techno Stabi Image Stabilizing Binoculars:
When trying to identify a nav marker or the name on a ship in anything less than smooth water, these Fujinons are absolutely incredible. We've also found them very useful for watching wildlife. The magnification and lack of jiggle are positively amazing.
