This is a good paper weight. The rope is not long enough for most lakes. The anchor does not latch onto lake floor very well.

Wouldn't even try to depend on it in any kinda current or in a emergacy.the USCG should not consider this as an functional anchor.

I'd describe this anchor as something that'd work well for a Kayak. It stays folded up due to the thick rubber coating, so you can't toss/pull. You need to expand it and bury it yourself - then push it in with your foot. It pulls out very easy and doesn't dig in at all.
