The Caframo fan motors and body are designed to last forever. I have six of them, some twenty years old. The blades also last but are the weak link. Being safe to children and pets they are made of plastic that is soft and safe but dries out after ten years or so and become brittle. Thank God they make blade replacements so I don't have to buy more whole fan units.
