Comments about Canvas Fasteners Steel Tapping Screws:
I suspect there's only one manufacturer for this product. I've purchased from several sources and all appear to be the same. They work good for their designed purpose. An easy and convenient way to fasten fabric; not meant to stand up to high forces. This purchase was from West Marine because as I only needed two of these, and shipping is free when picked up at store, it worked better for me.

Comments about Canvas Fasteners Steel Tapping Screws:
I purchased these because my boat is now located in a slip with more wind exposure which resulted in the usual pop on/off snaps releasing in the corners on my rear cover. Installation was reasonable, [*]. My second clue that all would not go well was the weak spring on the turn (twist) portion of the stud. This stud actually released my stern cover at a lower wind velocity/duration than the old pop on/off snaps. After several months of use, the retention spring was totally shot and I had to wire them closed.Save your money... find a better one. I'll repost if I find one.
