    Comments about Barracuda Windlass:

I have had this windlass for over 4 years. I installed it myself. It works when it is supposed to. Other than the fact that I purchased an anchor that was too small, the windlass has worked like a charm. I have been in touch with customer service when I purchased it and when I upgraded to a wireless controller. This windlass is very well priced and that was the main reason I went with it.

      Comments about Barracuda Windlass:

This is by far the least reliable component on my Whaler. I bought it because the price seemed right, but I regret not having shelled out the additional money for any other brand. The tension arm is completely bent, then the piece that holds the rope broke (it was rusted), and when taking off the top, the allen bolts broke off! And just 1 year after I installed it, the thin coat of paint on the motor housing has come off and the exposed metal is completely rusted. Needless to say, this product is junk.

        Comments about Barracuda Windlass:

We have installed about 6 of these windlasses from anchorlift. Every customers boat we installed them in has had problems. Most of the problems involved the rope and chain not retracting correctly and the tension arm bending. We even used their rope without a fix to the situation. When contacting customer service we never get a response.
