A rubber O-ring on these plastic deck plates creates a watertight seal for safety. Screw-in style has a single-start, non-jamming (no cross-threading), extra-strong, self-cleaning buttress thread. Use only 100% silicone caulk. ShWt .4

I measured existing original plate in cockpit of my O'Day and it was 4" across top. I was pleased to see that the West Marine catalogue showed both a 4" and a 6" and so ordered the 4". Although delivered fairly quickly to the store, about a week, nothing about it was 4". It measured about 4.5 inches across top of plate and required a hole of about 4.5". So it didn't even come close to fitting.

Great deck plate that is inexpensive, holds up well in all sorts of weather, can handle long winters and hot summers, holds up against sun, and sloughs off abuse. Well worth every penny.
