Typical Streamlight quality and design. I have used Streamlight products for years in my public safety career, all are products that you can trust to allways work when needed. When I saw this light, I never looked any further.
The included 12 volt cord means that as long as you have a 12 volt cigarette lighter plug battery life is not an issue.
I have the holster mounted inside the access door to the console on my Boston Whaler.
It is a spotlight that puts out a very strong narrow beam that seems to go on forever. Laser like.

I have only had this light for a few days so I cannot discuss longevity. I can say that it seems very well made and sturdy. I gave it 4 stars just because I haven't owned it long enough to give 5. This thing is BRIGHT and throws a beam of light very far. I stood at the end of my street and lit up a stop sign about 800 feet away - it looked like the sign was on fire. Reflective channel markers will be the same. The light is small in size, lightweight, and well balanced, even with the 4 C cells in it. If you look directly into it you will regret it ( I didn't do it). The power cord end that goes into the cig. lighter is slightly flimsy but not a big deal. I replaced my Q-Beam with this and in terms of power ability to see way out front it was a good choice. I was a little concerned about the 220 Lumens being enough. There was not reason to fear - this baby is a brute. My Q-Beam will go into a back-up role on my boat from here on out.

I bought this light as a gift for my father-in-law's ski boat to provide light for our nighttime rides to the dock. It has an impressive flood light as well as a spot beam that helps us see the buoys outside the marina. I installed a 12volt power outlet and the handy holster bracket and it was ready to go. It was a great gift for the person with everything. Unless you are a big time hunter or fisherman, people don't think of something like this is worth owning but we found out that this an accessory that should be on all boats and outdoor vehicles. I plan on getting another one for my jeep.
Pros
- LIghtweight for the throw
- Long Battery Life
- No charger to worry about
- Rugged Rugged Rugged
Cons
- Price but worth it
Best Uses
- Finding the boat ramp
Purchased for a trip into some caves and then placing aboard the sailboat. This light was the envy of every Cave Ranger encountered.
Used on the water before sunrise to launch and upon return post Sunset. Throw distance exceeds any lamp I have used, simplicity and ease of use with the pistol grip design places this ahead of any deck mounted lamp I have seen. Just unbelievable!

Bought this a couple of days ago and the throw on it is great! Really like the fact that it runs on regular alkaline batteries instead of it being rechargeable.
