Comments about 11'0" Nalu Stand up Paddleboard / Kayak:
Bought this about a week ago after deciding I needed something I could just pop on the car and go whenever I wanted. Looked around at all the SUP's and was a little dissapointed I could not afford a glassed SUP, so I decided this looked good enough for now. From the minute I got it in the water, all regrets were gone. I have not fallen once, despite tempting fate and going through medium boat traffing on my first try. Unbelievably stable!! I have not been stopped several times on the river with the big question "Is that a kayak or a SUP?" Glassed board riders are jealous of the versitility, not to mention the storage. This board handles whether I have a 45 lbs dog riding along or a 105lb passenger. My 11 year old daughter who has never kayaked before, took us both out yesterday with no help, with me weighting down the front! The 40 LBS is a little heavy after being on the water all day, but I have not nailed the board, or taken a mirror off my car yet. I would say, if you are going to kayak it, use a paddle with grip pads... after 6 hours on the river playing... ya a couple of blisters, but I also row so its not that big a deal, they are just in new places now. If you are looking to SUP, definitely give this a closer look, don't let the price or style turn you away, this thing is a BLAST!! Should mention I use an old school PFD cushion (the good think ones from the 60s) and it makes a fabulous seat!!
