This is a handy little gizmo that lets you charge your VHF 85 & other small electronic deices with 12 volt chargers when on shore. I use it for charging my Cobra handheld as well as my VHF 85. It would also be good for charging something like a cell phone. With a 0.5amp limit, it does not have the current capacity for larger devices, but it was not intended for that purpose.
