I keep it in the pocket of my automatic inflatable pfd. Wear it whenever underway on my 17' Boston Whaler. As a professional merchant mariner I depend on ACR products every day epirbs, water lights, firefly lights, spotlights, etc. Rugged reliable well designed throughout the product line.

I purchased the flotation case and wear the PLB on my belt at all times on the water. My larger EPIRB is in my ditch bag, but if I ever went overboard suddenly, I now have the added protection of always having this PLB with me. It is smaller and lighter than most cell phones. There is really no excuse to be without one.

I purchased this unit and a floating case as a backup to my ACR EPIRB and to use in the dinghy. It is very comforting to have on board in case things happen faster than I can make a radio call or if out of VHF range.
