VariMax 12V motors are designed to have the longest run time of any motor in their class. You’ll get up to 3 1/2 times the battery life- more than standard 5-speed motors so you can fish all day with the added advantage of precise, infinitely variable speed adjustment. VariMax motors are also reversible so they can be mounted on the bow or transom-or even on the gunwales. Gator Flex 360 mount with exclusive Isolator design that acts as a built-in shock absorber. The Isolator protects the shaft and the motor from vibration and jarring. Foot pedal controls feature smooth rack-and-pinion steering.

    Comments about R3 40 HT Freshwater Transom Mount Trolling Motor, 40lb.Thrust, 36" Shaft, 12V:

    plenty of power for a 12 volt,, but seems pretty heavy. sturdy construction, with a much more solid feel than a comparable Minn Kota (I've had a few of both) Recently had a one year old Minn Kota burn out on me, but have had some that lasted 12 yrs. If somebody could start stocking some type of weed guard for them , that would be good.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
