Put this unit in twice thinking the first one was just a fluke bad out of the box but that was not the case. I had a cover over it that was siliconed and one rain and the unit is ruined. It is absolutly not a marine rated Head unit. I am taking mine back and getting a fusion. If you are going to play it in your living room then buy it but if it is going to be outside no way.

I bought this to replace the existing Sony unit in my 2000 Cobalt. It worked with existing wiring harness from the old Sony unit. It took me 20 minutes to install, but could do it again in less than 10. Sounds great!

Unique installation cables allow for only one remote hook up. Never could get it to work all the functions. Used it 4 times and replaced it with an Alpine with wireless remotes (plural)

I ripped out a 10 disk CD changer and control unit in favor of this more modern and up-to-date IPod player. Instead of 100 songs, I now can listen to my collection of 6000 songs. A great piece of electronics!

this is a great unit and basically plug and play from my previous sony stereo. It is NOT weather/water proof so protect it! The settings can get confusing and trying to figure out the keys is difficult, will take some getting use to while keeping the manual handy. sound is great and the added tune tray was the biggest selling point for me. The unit retails at other places cheaper so print out the website of the lowest price and west marine matched them without any problems. very pleased, just waiting to find out how long it will last here in the saltwater environment of florida.
