i needed to place my ropes around the outside of the boat. It is very easy to use the ropes now for docking and tinging to other boats. This item will hols all sizes of line.

I use two of these on my sailboat to hold various lines while at the dock. I'm replacing them this year because after 10+ years they've developed some ugly "skin problems" that won't scrub off (but they are still are perfect mechanically).
