Comments about Sure Grip Cam Cleats:
I really like these cleats and used them to replace similar all metal cleats on a 1973 Etchells. I wanted to keep the boat as original looking as possible. These were close to the look of those cleats. These are tough cleats. The fiberglass backing where you mount them should be equally tough--that will fail, or the rope itselt will fail first. They are easy to engage and disengage. The teeth might tend to wear on the rope more than other teeth. Choose these if you are less concerned about rope wear and more concerned about reliability.
