Comments about Pelican "Over Center" Hook, Body Only:
I redid my lifelines with a new set of WM 1x19 cable with 1/4" LH threads. I then bought these hooks in 1/4" LH threads. There is either a mismatch in thread pitch or something. I held the cable with a pair of plyers while I spun the hook on. When it got tough I opened the hook to get a little more leverage (not what I would have considered excessive force, maybe for Aluminum, but not SS). Both are now twisted and useless. Not sure I would want to trust my life to these in the 1/4" size. I now have a 5/16" and they seem OK (3 stars for the 5/16", 1 star for the 1/4")
Pros
- Quality Construction
Cons
- No strength specification

Comments about Pelican "Over Center" Hook, Body Only:
Solid, hefty item. Good finish. Well fitting parts. No way of knowing how well the casting was done. Would like strength specifications.
