Comments about Coastal Automatic Inflatable Life Vests:
You really get what you pay for. This PFD is exceptionally built, lightweight, easy to use and fits like a glove.
Service and delivery comments:
I am so impressed with the service I have received. I called the store last week since I live out of town and asked that they put 2 off to the side for me. But unfortunately when I went to pick them up, the store was closed due to a holiday. The manager went out of her way by calling around, finding a location that can ship to me and honored the sale price. Not only that, they shipped me the PFDs overnight free of charge for the inconvenience. Kudos to the folks that helped me out!

Comments about Coastal Automatic Inflatable Life Vests:
Very comfortable. Bought two, one for my wife, one for myself. I wear when out on the water alone, or when we are out at night. Pocket is perfect for ACR PLB.

Comments about Coastal Automatic Inflatable Life Vests:
This product will be used for bay sailing. It is very stylish as PFD's go. Lol. It's light so my wife will wear one. What's not so great is that it arrived needing to be serviced an unfortunate oversight by the warehouse staff in completing my order. But, I am being sent a new one by Roxanne.
Service and delivery comments:
I'm writing this review solely on the customer service aspect of the product. I received a dead PFD :-( that portion of the delivery was the fault of the warehouse. It had the red window denoting service needed right out of the box so it was useless But, Roxanne took care of the problem in such a professional manner i felt compelled to write this review. On behalf of West Marine she is sending a new vest out to me. It is considered a hazardous material so it takes 5 days otherwise it would have been overnighted to me. I was told to discard the vest but I may just end up returning it to a local West Marine store and letting them find out what went wrong since it may or may not be defective. But anyway Thank You Roxanne thank you West Marine. I haven't been this impressed in a long time with a company.

Just got it this year and last weekend I fell into Lake Michigan. It went off without a hitch.
Now just have to get the repacking kit.

Comments about Coastal Automatic Inflatable Life Vests:
I bought this jacket as an upgrade from another brand of manually inflatable jacket that I have been using for 10+ years. The other jacket is a very "tall" jacket, the bottom rides at my navel. This jacket is very "short," with the bottom hitting me at the bottom of my rib cage. After wearing it around the house for a little while, I decided that I wasn't going like wearing it all day for several days of sailing on Lake Superior, so I returned it. I still feel that it is a good jacket, just not for me.

Comments about Coastal Automatic Inflatable Life Vests:
Father's Day gift in 2011. Used 2-3 times a week last season. Fullfills my promise to wear flotation when solo sailing. I wear it every time I go out regardless. Why not. I sometimes forget to take it off when I come ashore. Intend to buy one for every crewmember as $$$ will allow. That way they will wear PFDs with little reason to object! Neoprene neck liner sometimes gets warm in direct sun but not unbearable.

Comments about Coastal Automatic Inflatable Life Vests:
My wife and I just crossed the Gulf of Mexico sailing our Beneteau 393. We wore this Life Vest from West Marine. We were impressed on the comfort and mobility while wearing them. West Marine's life vests are reassuring when you have to move around a sailboat with 18kt of wind and 5ft following seas.

Comments about Coastal Automatic Inflatable Life Vests:
The high humidity of south Louisiana does not allow you to store the PFD in your boat as we do. It is inflated every time we pull them out of dry storage. It quickly becomes a very expensive life vest to maintain. Not practical at all!

Comments about Coastal Automatic Inflatable Life Vests:
We ordered the Periwinkle/Black vest for my wife who is a purple nut. She was excited about the Periwinkle color of the vest shown on the product description page. Disappointed after it arrived however, because it is actually a lite blue color.
This has nothing to do with the quality of the product and it looks to be well made and the instructions easy to follow.
Hopefully we will never have to use it as intended so can't comment how well it works. When it gets close to time to replace the CO2 cartage we will let one of the grandchildren jump in and give it a test for us.
Service and delivery comments:
