Although 6V batteries were originally designed for golf carts, they make great marine batteries when combined in series to make a 12V bank. Golf carts make tough demands on their batteries all day, seven days a week. Deep discharges, high amp draws and constant vibration demand that golf cart batteries be rugged, long lasting and cost-effective. They are capable of 700 complete discharge/ charge cycles before losing half of their capacity. While not optimized for engine starting loads, they will not be damaged when used to start large engines.

The 8L16 industrial battery is ideal for a very long-life house bank. Two of these batteries will provide 370Ah over 1,000 cycles if properly maintained. While they have a compact footprint, they're tall, so make sure your mounting location can accommodate them. SeaVolt batteries cannot be shipped. Available at stores only.
