Goes on easy and dries fast and hard

This paint went on much easier than I expected and dried smoother than I thought it would. I have done bottom jobs before with other paints. This one is the best so far.

I have used Bottom Shield for 10 years, every year the Copper Oxide content is lower and lower, yet the price increases. Now that its down to only 28% Cuprous it doesnt work well in Lake Michigan anymore. Slime, growth and scum in a short time. Never had to really power wash at end of season, but now growth is horrible as the paint doesnt work. West Marine needs to boost the CuO percentage as it simply doesn work any more.

Product can be thinned to allow the coating to be effective for the short boating season we have here in the Midwest.

            Comments about BottomShield Antifouling Paint:

I recently purchased Bottomshield paint for my 1971 SeaCraft fiberglass hull.
This is the first time I have used this brand of antifouling paint.
One negative was when I opened the can, I realized it needed to be shaken. The paint was very thick at the bottom. It had to be stirred.. which was messy. Afterwards, the paint went on smoothly, and covered the hull nicely. I am satisfied with this product.

Comments about West Marine BottomShield Antifouling Paint:

I tried this bottom paint because my friends were using the same paint on thier boats and told me that for the cost it was as good as the paints that I was paying more for. I tried it, bad choice. I had to re lift my boat and paint again. the bottom fouled within the 1st month. So to save a hundred a gallon it cost me an extra 500 for the Marina to pull me again. My friends ave to repaint also.
