CPP Antifouling Paint with CCT

Now formulated with CCT-Composite Copper Technology-CPP offers season-long antifouling protection with 35% less copper released into the environment. This “self-polishing” formulation wears away, releasing fresh biocides as the boat moves through the water, providing excellent protection with minimal paint buildup. Effective in salt or fresh water and compatible with most previously painted surfaces in good condition. For best performance, two or three coats per season are recommended.

I used this ablative bottom paint for the past 3 years On my 35 Bertram and I have had excellent results! I previously had been using Interlux CSC and I have not seen any difference in performance using the west paint. I HAVE been very happy with the MUCH lower price of the west paint and have had the same results with regard to performance. I simply have the hull power washed at season end and I am ready fro another coat in the spring. The paint is constantly shedding during the in water use and this gives a fresh surface to repel growth and the added benefit of very little buildup. My boat yard has commented at how little growth my vessel has each fall at haul out. BY the way I launch in early March and haul out in December so I am in water for 10 months!

Not what I expected

I bought this paint cause of the great price. The problem is that it is Brown, not black.

Comments about CPP Antifouling Paint with CCT:

Like all bottom paints, CPP paint MUST be shaken extremely well, otherwise you will end up with separation no matter how fresh the paint is. Quarts can easily be shaken by hand and the paint mixes perfectly. Gallons MUST be shaken in a mechanical shaker. If you don't have access to a shaker, pour out one-third of the paint off the top, then manually shake what is left in the can, stirring if needed. When that is well-mixed, add in what you poured out, shake again, and you're good to go.
In low-to-moderate fouling waters you may get more than one season out of this paint. In high/moderate to heavy fouling waters, depending on your vessel use, this may be a single season paint.
If you need more durability, higher copper content, slime prevention, or longer-lasting paint, use PCA instead.
When properly shaken, this rolls and brushes easily. Though it smells terrible, it's actually quite mild compared to multi-season ablatives.
Glasses, gloves, mask, etc. are all a must!

                  Can of tar

Comments about CPP Antifouling Paint with CCT:

I made the mistake of not opening the can prior to leaving the store. Nor checking it prior to set up and preparation prior to application. But then, why would I expected it to be bad since I just purchased it brand-new and it had just been shipped to the store. Of course that was not the case the paint was like tar in the can completely useless. Needless to say I ordered from another supply company and two weeks later was able to do the job I had started.

                  Service and delivery comments:

Not being told of the order cut off date the product arrived a week later than I was originally told through the online order process.
