We use 4 of these chairs on our 1968 35ft Chris Craft Commander on Lake Michigan. The design is classy and because they are free standing they provide flexible seating on the deck. They are comfortable and very easy to maintain. I purchased 2 more for my son's boat as a Christmas gift.

These chairs worked out just great for a few seasons. Very comfortable to sit on in the cockpit or on the dock. The aluminum ones are much lighter which it why I chose them. The frames are great as my two are still perfect (save some screw/nut replacement - all expected) I left them exposed to the elements about 50/50. Boy I'm I glad I didn't go for the stainless ones at $50 bucks more each. The plywood (couldn't have even been marine grade) became water logged and came apart on one a armrest and broke, the others are waterlogged too. I am taking them apart to rebuild only to find the internal tee nuts are zinc/steel and had rusted on the bolts. Not much in the way a spare parts available except caps and nylon spacers. Just understand that they are just as disposable as other outdoor furniture and you will be fine.

Comments about Kingfish II Folding Deck Chair:

Our old deck chairs suffered from waterlogged seats & unremovable mildew under the vinyl fabric. The wood structures were waterlogged & soft. These newly designed chairs with molded plastic seat, back and arm supports are unaffected by moisture. They should last indefinitely if covered between uses. The aluminum frames are sturdy, lightweight and attractive. The curved seat and back are extremely comfortable. GREAT VALUE-- We replaced these chairs for half the cost of reupholstering!

Comments about Kingfish II Folding Deck Chair:

The is the second deck chair I have purchased. Good sound construction, very stable footprint. Have not experienced any corrosion problems as detailed in another review. Due to size, the chair needs large deck space.

          staples used for upholstery rust

Comments about Kingfish II Folding Deck Chair:

The staples used to attach the upholstery were not stainless steel. The chair left rust stains on my boat deck. (Thank goodness the screws used to construct the chair were stainless!) The plastic fittings are not UV resistant, after 1.5 years they are falling apart. The chairs are comfortable but cannot be left on the boat deck due to the staples rusting. Too heavy to move around. I plan to remove the rusty staples and replace with stainless staples so that I can leave the chairs out on my boat deck. Other than those two issues I like the chairs. I would not recommend this product to a friend because most people don't have the time or want the added investment of replacing the staples.
