Vice President, Creative, Store Design & Construction
One of the newest members of West Marine’s management team, Jim joined the crew in March 2019.
A coffee-making enthusiast (although he won’t share his secrets, just his coffee) Jim brings 20 years of expertise in creating vibrant retail environments through visual merchandising and store design, as well as digital and print design. Previously, he founded Brand Matter, Inc., a full-service retail design and branding agency, served as vice president and chief creative director for The Wet Seal and as vice president of creative services at specialty apparel retailer Coldwater Creek. Most recently he served as vice president and creative director at Trans World Entertainment.
Jim’s biggest passions include design, branding, and working collaboratively, making his move to West Marine a perfect fit. He is excited about doing great work with great teams and having fun while doing it!
One thing you might not know about Jim? As a kid he had dreams of becoming the next Tony Hawk.
Jim holds a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Maryland and a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
