LOCAL NON-PROFITS TO BENEFIT FROM WEST MARINE’S “CRUISING FOR A CAUSE” CHARITY NIGHT IN HONOLULU - Mayor Carlisle to Participate in Maile Lei Ceremony, Present Proclamation

What: West Marine (NASDAQ: WMAR) the largest retailer of boating supplies and accessories is celebrating its grand opening by hosting “Cruising for A Cause,” charity night for local marine non-profits including: M’Ocean Therapy, Polynesian Voyaging Society, Marimed Foundation, Pacific Islands Fishery Group, Waianae Youth Sailing Program/Sea Scout Ship Kaveha Pono and the Hawaii Sailing Foundation.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a traditional Hawaiian blessing, a proclamation presentation by Mayor Peter Carlisle, and brief remarks from West Marine’s President & CEO Geoff Eisenberg.

Kahu Kaleo Peterson will perform the blessing and maile lei untying.

Famous Gyotaku fish print maker Naoki Hayashi will attend the opening and provide demonstrations throughout the evening.

Guests will enjoy Hawaiian music, keiki hula performances, dancers, food and raffle items throughout the evening

When: Thursday, March 22, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Traditional Hawaiian blessing and Proclamation presentation by Mayor Peter Carlisle at 6pm
