Women's Dorado™ CVO PFG Shoes
These deck shoes are designed for fishing, but they work great for stand-up paddling, too.
Unlike the iconic CVO (canvas vulcanized oxford) shoes that have canvas uppers and rubber soles, Columbia's Dorado™ CVO PFG Shoes start by using breathable synthetic mesh for their uppers. Canvas gets really heavy when it's wet, but these shoes feel as light when they get wet as when you first put them on. And if that wasn't enough, they added the advanced water and stain resistant treatment known as Omni-Shield Blood 'n Guts™ that will handle pretty much anything you would encounter on a day long fishing trip and then out afterwards without missing a beat. You'll also discover their Omni-Grip™ outsoles ensure you'll have the traction you need to stay upright when the going gets slippery—by land or by sea. Lightweight Techlite™ midsoles offer such comfortable cushioning and energy return that you'll be back on the water while you still have your sea legs. Imported.
The Look: This high-tech deck shoe with technical fishing features is part of Columbia's PFG (Performance Fishing Gear) collection, so you know you're getting shoes designed for some serious fishing, and not just to look like it.
The Uppers: No one wants to wear a pair of soggy, heavy shoes all day. So Columbia used mesh for these uppers to help them shed any water that gets inside and dry quickly. They're also breathable so your feet stay happy. A handy heel loop makes it easier to pull them on when your feet are wet.
The Laces: Columbia provided bungee laces with a quick adjust clamp that lets you snug these shoes up tight when they get wet and you're looking for extra stability. There's also a hook-and-loop tab that secures the laces so they won't flop around or get caught in your tackle at an inopportune moment.
Omni-Shield Blood 'n Guts: They've got to be kidding, right? Slime? Blood? Fish guts? Chum? Oily water? Actually, they're not. This treatment is specially formulated to provide two lines of defense to prevent and remove stains. Sure, they could have just coated these shoes with some kind of thick rubber that wouldn't absorb anything shy of nuclear waste, but then they would be hot, clammy, uncomfortable and not particularly attractive. Omni-Shield Blood 'n Guts is different. Its long-lasting repellency doesn't affect the breathability or the feel of the uppers. Plus, the stain release properties ensure an easy cleanup.
The Insoles: Removable Techlite comfort system footbeds provide the extra support and cushioning you need when you're on your feet all day. Drying is hastened by pulling the insoles out between wearings.
The Midsoles: Once again, lightweight Techlite is used to provide immediate and long-lasting superior cushioning and higher energy return. The lower durometer ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) offers the ultimate in comfort and shock absorption.
The Outsoles: Wet gelcoat, slippery rocks, and heeling decks are no problem for Omni-Grip non-slip rubber outsoles. This advanced traction features specially formulated compounds and treads that ensure stability, and the right grip, for every environment. Omni-Grip features siping (razor-thin cuts in the rubber) so they grip even more when you're fishing in, on and around water. They also have a perimeter design for stable strides on solid ground. Not only that, they're non-marking. That means they won't leave ugly black streaks on white gelcoat decks.
