Micron CSC HS delivers multi-season antifouling performance and reduces the need for sanding when the time comes to repaint.

Micron CSC HS (High Solids) uses Micron technology to provide long-lasting antifouling protection against all types of marine fouling. Compared to Micron Extra, Micron CSC HS has a higher solids content, which makes it harder and causes it to wear away at a slower rate. But just like all other paints in the Micron line, Micron CSC HS offers the advantages of controlled polishing which reduces the buildup of old coatings and minimizes the need to sand at reapplication. Along with reduced paint buildup, controlled polishing helps to keep the hull smooth, which improves boat speed and fuel efficiency.

Compared to hard epoxy bottom paints, Micron CSC HS uses less copper more efficiently to control marine growth, which benefits the waters in which we boat!  Also unlike hard bottom paints, hulls that are coated with Micron CSC HS can be hauled and relaunched without a loss of antifouling effectiveness.

Micron CSC HS dries to bright colors and can be used below the waterline in fresh, salt or brackish water on fiberglass, wood and properly primed metal hulls and parts. Do not use on aluminum.

Get the right amount of paint:

Boat Type Bottom Paint
10' Dinghy 1 qt.
14' Outboard 1-2 qt.
18' Runabout 2 qt.
20' Sailboat 3 qt.
24' Runabout 3-4 qt.
30' Sailboat 1.5 gal.
32' Cruiser 1.5-2 gal.
36' Auxiliary 2 gal.
40' Cruiser 2.5 gal.
45' Sailboat 3-3.5 gal
50' Sportfisher 4+ gal.

Another way to determine bottom paint quantity is to estimate the approximate surface area of the hull below the waterline, using the following formula:

Length x Beam x .75 = Approximate underwater surface area in square feet.

Each paint has a “theoretical coverage” area, but most paints require at least two coats, so you can expect actual coverage to be no greater than half of the theoretical value.
