Product Overview

Karver’s award-winning K-Blocks were introduced about seven years ago, and are simple, reliable and efficient. Karver has been chosen to outfit the yachts of the America’s Cup, the Volvo Ocean Race, the Vendée Globe and Maxi record-breaking multihulls. Attached with a basic lashing, K-Blocks are unequalled in light weight combined with extremely high working loads. Assembled with ball or roller bearings, KB operates at low friction, and is adapted for all applications. Assembled with plain bearings, KB-C guarantees very high working load for its size. KB-C is perfect for applications where a line under high load has to run on a tight radius, like runners, backstay, cunnigham, barber-haulers or vang.

Weight Savings: Using lashings instead of metal shackles reduces weight up to 50 percent compared to other “performance” blocks with similar working loads.

Silence on Board: Unlike metallic-linked blocks, lashing avoids noise and absorbs shocks.

Safety: Lashing through the block’s center significantly increases safety, because even if the block breaks, the running rope is still held by the lashing one. The mast will remain standing, even if the backstay block breaks!

Versatility: Lashing link offers unlimited applications and lots of different ways to attach the block.
