Since about 71 percent of the Earth's surface is covered by water, there's a pretty good chance you are near it on any given day. Patagonia's Baggies Shorts are designed for that day (and night, too). They're made from durable, quick-drying SUPPLEX® 100% recycled nylon to lessen our dependence on petroleum and cause less air, water and soil contamination compared to using non-recycled nylon. They also have a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to shed moisture so they're almost dry by the time you get back in the kayak after executing a perfect Eskimo roll. Did we also mention the fabric is certified as bluesign® approved? (More on that below.)
The fit is casual with an elasticized waistband that houses an internal drawstring to customize the fit and, more importantly, keep them on as you swing from that rope into the lake surrounded by people not above taking embarrassing videos to post on social media. A quick-drying polyester mesh liner prevents chafing between your skin and the trunks. You'll discover the vertical side pockets with drain-and-dry mesh corners are positioned to reduce drag in the water. There's also a rear snap-closure pocket.
