Product Overview

This pullover makes perfect sense for everything from urban adventures to backcountry paddling.

With its low-impact dyeing process, bluesign® approved fabric and Fair Trade Certified™ sewing, it's hard not to feel good about Patagonia's Better Sweater 1/4-Zip Pullover. The fact that it also keeps you warm and looks good doing it is just icing on the Versatile and bulk-free so it fits easily under a waterproof shell, there's hardly a hill or dale where you can't wear it. 100% polyester fleece. Imported.

Low-Impact Dye Process

The Better Sweater 1/4-Zip Pullover is made of 10-oz 100% polyester knitted fleece dyed with a low-impact process that significantly reduces the use of dyestuffs, energy and water compared to conventional dyeing methods. With its sweater-knit face, moisture-wicking fleece interior and heathered yarns this pullover will keep you warm whether you're facing that sudden temperature change as the sun sinks below the horizon on your paddle or a brisk morning walk on a deserted beach.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers and safe for the end customers. Fabric that is certified as bluesign approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in its manufacture that conserves resources and minimizes impacts on people and the environment.

Fair Trade Certified™ Sewing

What makes a factory Fair Trade Certified? Rigorous standards for health and safety, respect for the environment, no child or forced labor, maternity and paid leave, community empowerment and additional money back to workers. Patagonia pays a premium for every Fair Trade Certified item that carries their label. That extra money goes directly back to the factory workers, and they decide how to spend it. They can allocate it as a cash bonus, use it for a collective social investment or both.

Complementary Construction

Raglan sleeves give you greater range of motion when you're double poling while cross-country skiing or slipping on a backpack. Flat-seam construction reduces extra bulk that gets in the way when you want to pull on a waterproof shell and helps eliminate seam chafe for active wear. This jacket functions equally well over a shirt. Shape-holding, abrasion-resistant micropolyester jersey is used to trim the collar, cuffs and hem.
