Getting the insulation wet on most jackets means you're going to be cold.

Not this jacket. It maintains 98% of its warmth even when it's wet.

Let that sink in a little. Enjoying the great outdoors likely means you're going to face unpredictable weather at some point. Wouldn't it be great if you had a jacket that lets you worry about more important things (like whether you've gotten between a mother bear and her cubs) than getting wet? Patagonia's Nano Puff Jacket is that jacket. The insulation is highly compressible, breathable, as soft as down and still keeps you warm if it gets wet. More than half of its content is recycled. Add that to an outer shell and lining that are made from 100% recycled polyester ripstop with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and you have a jacket that's warm, windproof, water-resistant and less damaging to the environment. 100% polyester (60g) insulation. Imported.

PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco

This synthetic insulation offers an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio and maintains 98% thermal efficiency when wet, all while using 55% post-consumer recycled fibers. PrimaLoft uses a proprietary microfiber structure that helps retain your body heat and thereby helps you conserve the energy your body usually uses to stay warm. So how does this insulation remain warm when it's wet? Using fibers that are just a fraction of the diameter of a human hair, PrimaLoft forms a tight collection of air pockets that  trap heat from your body and keep the cold out. Unlike insulation that loses these air pockets when it gets wet, PrimaLoft's ultra-fine fibers create a tight surface tension that won't allow water to pass through and have unique, permanent finishes that repel water and keep the insulation drier, even if water is forced into the insulation. These fibers also mimic the softness and compressibility of goose down and are breathable so moisture vapor is transported through them and away from your skin.

Resists Wind & Water

The Nano Puff Jacket features a 22-denier shell and lining of lightweight (1.4oz.) 100% recycled polyester ripstop that is water-resistant, windproof and warm. A durable water repellent (DWR) finish is applied to shed light rain and snow and decrease drying time, yet still allow the fabric to breathe for exceptional comfort as your activity, and thus your body heat, increases. Patagonia uses recycled polyester (including fibers from unusable manufacturing waste and worn-out garments) to lessen dependence on petroleum and cause less air, water and soil contamination compared to using nonrecycled polyester.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers and safe for the end customers. Fabric that is certified as bluesign approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in its manufacture that conserves resources and minimizes impacts on people and the environment.

Complementary Construction

The brick quilting pattern with horizontal quilt lines on the side panels not only has an aesthetic appeal, it also stabilizes the insulation and prevents cold spots. Durable thread is used in the construction for abrasion resistance and long-lasting wear.

Perfect Packing

With the ability to compress down and pack compactly into its own pocket like a sleeping bag in a stuffsack, you'll discover just how handy this jacket can become the next time Mother Nature throws you a curveball. There's even a reinforced carabiner clip-in loop in the pocket that lets you keep it clipped to the outside of your backpack for quick deployment.
