It's time to meet your new favorite fleece sweater jacket.

(You know, the one you won't even loan out to your best friend.)

With its low-impact dyeing process, bluesign® approved fabric and Fair Trade Certified™ sewing, you'll feel good about wearing Patagonia's Better Sweater Jacket. The fact that it also keeps you warm and dry and looks good doing it is just icing on the cake...er...mountain. Versatile and bulk-free, you'll undoubtedly find plenty of places to wear it. And with three zippered pockets and two interior drop-in pockets, you'll have an abundance of space to store a hat, a pair of gloves and that phone that rarely gets used as a phone anymore. 100% polyester fleece. Imported.

Low-Impact Dye Process

The Better Sweater Jacket is made of 10oz. 100% polyester fleece dyed with a low-impact process that significantly reduces the use of dyestuffs, energy and water compared to conventional dyeing methods. With its sweater-knit face and soft, moisture-wicking fleece interior, this jacket will keep you warm and dry whether you're heading out of the harbor on a cool morning or feeling the downdraft between city buildings as you head to the dog park.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers and safe for the end customers. Fabric that is certified as bluesign approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in its manufacture that conserves resources and minimizes impacts on people and the environment.

Fair Trade Certified™ Sewing

What makes a factory Fair Trade Certified? Rigorous standards for health and safety, respect for the environment, no child or forced labor, maternity and paid leave, community empowerment and additional money back to workers. Patagonia pays a premium for every Fair Trade Certified item that carries their label. That extra money goes directly back to the factory workers, and they decide how to spend it. They can allocate it as a cash bonus, use it for a collective social investment or both.

Complementary Construction

Raglan sleeves give you greater range of motion when you're adjusting your sails or slipping on a backpack. Princess seams on the back and forward seams on the front provide a countoured shape that reduces extra bulk so it's easier to pull on a waterproof shell in a hurry and a better fit for a woman's proportions. This jacket functions equally well over a shirt. Shape-holding, abrasion-resistant polyester jersey is used to trim the wind flap, pockets, collar, cuffs and hem.
