Wonderfully Waterproof

The Stretch Rainshadow Jacket features a water-repellent 2.5-layer H2No® Performance Standard 30-denier fabric shell of 2.2oz. nylon ripstop that's lightweight, supple and stretchy. This shell fabric is combined with a waterproof, yet breathable membrane, a protective top coat barrier and a durable water repellent (DWR) finish. This design allows the jacket to be constructed without the need for an internal lining fabric. A distinctive raised print layer is applied for decreased surface tension and increased moisture management. The DWR finish not only repels light rain and snow and decreases drying time, it also keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so the breathable barrier can do its job—keeping you dry on the inside and out.

Perfect Packing

Because its 2.5-layer H2No Performance Standard shell fabric is so lightweight and compressible, the Stretch Rainshadow Jacket makes a good choice for coastal or inshore boating, backpacking, alpine climbing and backcountry skiing or snowboarding. This protective jacket stuffs compactly into its own chest pocket and features a carabiner clip-in loop that lets you keep it clipped to the outside of your backpack or gear bag for quick deployment.

Essential Extras

You'll find the attached hood is alpine helmet-compatible, includes a laminated visor and has a single-pull adjustment that lets you adjust the fit with one hand. When unneeded, the hood rolls down and stows with a simple cord and hook.

The center-front zipper, welted venting armpit zippers, exterior left zippered chest pocket and two zippered handwarmer pockets are all treated with a DWR finish for watertight protection.
