You're gonna need a bigger hold all the fish you'll catch wearing these sunglasses.

Don't panic! The only things to disappear in your open ocean adventures will be glare and reflections off the water. Shark Bite Sunglasses have advanced polycarbonate lenses with Pelagic's XP-700™ Polarized Lens System that combines optical technologies for a clear advantage and their Carbonite-16™ frames are engineered to survive everything from the extreme conditions you'll find offshore to that 4th of July BBQ at the beach. Tough, yet flexible. Lightweight and comfortable. Perfectly balanced for performance. We think you're going to love your Shark Bite Sunglasses so much you'll want to make extra sure they don't end up in The Pond and have to bid them farewell and adieu. A neoprene retainer or leash (sold separately) is inexpensive insurance against the unthinkable.

Melanin Technology

This is a feature Pelagic has added to all of its lenses. Wait! Isn't melanin a pigment in my skin? Yes, it's actually found throughout the human body and it acts as a natural defense for our skin and eyes against sunlight damage by filtering all forms of Ultraviolet (UVA, UVB and UVC) and High Energy Visible (HEV) light, better known as "violet-blue light." Pelagic infuses melanin into the lenses so you benefit from powerful, natural protection from UV and HEV rays while not altering your true color perception.

Oleophobic Coating

Oleophobic is a big word that simply means the particular material repels oil. An oleophobic lens coating is added that helps keep things like fingerprints, sweat, sunscreen and skin oils from clouding your vision.

Hydrophobic Coating

Like oleophobic, hydrophobic involves repelling something. In this case, water. By repelling water, this lens coating reduces the visual distortion that occurs when you're wearing your sunglasses around water or rain. It also makes it much easier and quicker to clean your lenses. Plus, by not holding onto water, your lenses won't fog up as easily and are less likely to attract dust and dirt.

Anti-Reflective Coating

This five-layer lens coating eliminates distracting bounce-back reflections that cause glare and in combination with the mirror finish provides enhanced clarity and contrast for the bright conditions you'll encounter offshore. And that translates into reduced eye strain and fatigue.

Anti-Scratch Hard Coating

Lightweight polycarbonate lenses like those found on Shark Bite Sunglasses are relatively soft. Pelagic adds a multi-layer hard coating to protect your lenses so they'll resist vision-distorting scratches.
