PETTIT PAINT–Hydrocoat SR Dual-Biocide Ablative Antifouling Paint
This item is no longer available.
Water-based Hydrocoat SR protects against hard and soft growth and cleans up easily with soap and water.
Hydrocoat SR takes the proven formula of Hydrocoat and adds the slime inhibitor Irgarol for effective prevention of tough hard and soft growth. Easier on the environment, the water-based formula of Hydrocoat SR eliminates the offensive solvents found in most bottom paints, for easy application and cleanup, with low VOCs and no heavy solvent smell. Hydrocoat SR’s surface wears away with use, which exposes fresh biocides and eliminates paint buildup along with the need for heavy sanding at haulout. Able to withstand trailering, beaching, and launching, the formula also allows unlimited dry time before launch—so you can paint when you want and launch when you please.
- Proven antifouling performance with added slime inhibitor Irgarol
- Water-based formula is safer for the environment
- Low VOCs and no heavy solvent smell
- Ablative formula eliminates paint buildup and reduces need for sanding at haulout
- Does not lose antifouling effectiveness when exposed to air

|24' Runabout||3-4 qt.|

Another way to determine bottom paint quantity is to estimate the approximate surface area of the hull below the waterline, using the following formula:
Length x Beam x .75 = Approximate underwater surface area in square feet.
Each paint has a “theoretical coverage” area, but most paints require at least two coats, so you can expect actual coverage to be no greater than half of the theoretical value.
