Product Overview
SHIMANO Teramar XX NE Spinning Rod
The Teramar XX Northeast (NE) series of rods set a new standard in performance with technique-specific powers, actions, and features for targeting fluke, striped bass, tautog and other inshore game fish in the Northeast region of the United States.
The Teramar XX NE rods incorporate Shimano’s proprietary Spiral X and Hi-Power X technologies for increased power transmission through the rod for increased casting distance as well as reduced blank twist to make this series of rods the epitome of performance. Extensive field testing with Shimano Pros in the Northeast allowed Shimano’s Product Team to fine-tune and tailor every aspect — from the handle shape to the guide train — to make Teramar XX NE the ultimate rod for the inshore waters of the Northeast.
Features:
- Hi-Power X construction uses diagonally-wrapped carbon tape to form an array of “X” shapes on the rod blank’s outermost layer. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. This manufacturing process allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control for the angler
- Spiral X - Through its exclusive lightweight structure, Shimano’s patented Spiral X construction enhances catching power for anglers. Spiral X construction consists of three layers: a middle layer of vertical fibers as well as inner and outer layers, both comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions. By using this carbon tape in place of a conventional horizontal fiber sheet, Spiral X achieves enhanced compression rigidity and increased torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This facilitates instant power transmission for precise casting and fish fighting
- CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4. This highly technical carbon material maintains 2.5 times more rigidity than CI4. While improving lightness and rigidity, the body and rotor are further reduced in size and weight
