SHIMANO Stradic FL Spinning Reel
Never satisfied with “good enough”, Shimano always finds another way to improve your fishing experience. Introducing the new Shimano Stradic, the product of continuous evolution.
Now with Shimano’s Micro Module Gear II you’ll experience a rotational smoothness and power transfer, never before achieved in a reel at this price point. Couple Micro Module Gear II with Silent Drive, which fine tunes internal components to the highest tolerances possible, and you’ll agree the new Stradic approaches flagship level performance. Plus, Shimano’s X Protect water-repellent coating and specially designed, water channeling, labyrinth construction ensure a lifetime of top level performance by stopping water penetration in key areas without adding a heavy rotational feel.
The ST4000XGFL comes equipped with Shimano’s Cross Carbon Drag system, designed to endure and conquer the most blistering runs and the most powerful fish.
Hagane Gear -Unlike hot forging, Shimano’s precision col-forging technology, in which metal is compressed at room temperatures, achieves excellent precision and strength. The Hagane Gear is produced by applying about 200 tons of pressure to the raw metal. This technology involves no cutting work to forge a high-precision gear with micron accuracy in a single process, and this is unlike any other in the world. Such quality deserves to be called “transformed metal.”
The Hagane Body is made of highly rigid metals such as aluminum and magnesium. With its weight reduced to the limit, the Hagane Body eliminates flex, warp, and distortion of the reel, allowing smooth reeling with little power loss. Furthermore, the body protects the engagement of the Hagane Gear and the Micro Module Gear System from shock, while maintaining smooth operation.
The X-Ship system enables smooth reeling even under heavy loads. Shimano’s unique mechanism for robust gear engagement uses an enlarged drive gear, optimum positioning of the pinion and drive gears and two-point support of the pinion gear whose ends are supported by bearings. Even when you are fighting very large fish, and the X-Ship system efficiently transmits the input power, enabling powerful reeling.
Micro Module Gears - The new gear set makes use of smaller teeth and more of them. This means that ther are more contact points between the drive gear and pinion gear. The result is a more efficient gear train with less gear feel, and much smoother retrieves.
