Aluminum Anchors
Established in 1990. The Spade Anchor® design was the first anchor to incorporate the concave single fluke. This design change increased holding power substantially especially in mud, grass and sand. It uses a ballast chamber in the anchor tip filled with lead, to increase weight at the tip. This additional ballast is used both to aid in proper orientation once on the seabed and in penetrating the bottom during setting. This ballast eliminates the need for a roll bar.
Having a lead filled tip puts over 50% of the anchors total weight in the tip. The Spade Anchor® is the only lead filled aluminium anchor in the world. This heavy tip makes the anchor set quickly and easily. This gives the Spade Anchor® an amazing unmatched setting and resetting capability. Coupled with an aggressive angle of attack, the Spade Anchor® will set and hold in any type of seabed.
