If you feel the need for speed AND want to fish...this is your kayak

Low, sleek and stylish, our Pompano 120 Sit-On-Top Angler Kayak has the tracking and speed necessary to cover longer distances quickly and effortlessly. Although designed for day-tripping on flatwater lakes and rivers, even moderate chop and wind are no problem. Where you'll really notice the difference this kayak makes is when you start gearing up for fishing.* With a load capacity of 350 pounds (including you) and lots of places to put all the essential gear you'll want to bring along, the biggest decision you'll face is how to tell your significant other about that new reel you just had to have. And don't discount the role color plays in the function of your kayak. This combination works as both camouflage to help break up your profile and the bright spots make it noticeable enough so larger boats will spot you.

If you're new to fishing from a kayak, why choose a sit-on-top over a sit-inside kayak? Options! It's easier to add accessories. And if you're like most kayak fishermen, outfitting your boat is half the fun! You'll have a better view of the water (and potential obstacles) around you and it's also easier to get out and back in if you feel the need to wade. Some fishermen even like the ability to hang a leg over the side when dealing with a large fish. Since you'll be more open to the elements, expect to get wet. If the water's warm, wear clothing that dries quickly and protects you from the sun's damaging rays. If the water or air is cold, you'll want to wear gear that also provides extra warmth. Neoprene shoes or boots (sold separately) feel really good after a day out in the elements instead of cold, wet feet.

Hull Design

Made from roto-molded polyethylene, the hull of the Pompano 120 is flexible and impact resistant so it will endure years of rough handling. The shape of the hull has been designed to be stable and efficient in everything from flat water to small surf.

Comfort

The Pompano 120 features an adjustable foot brace system that allows you to not only adjust for your leg length, but to change your leg positions for optimal paddling and then shift positions or stretch out during the day as needed. Self-bailing scupper holes are found in several places so water that finds its way over the deck will automatically drain out so you won't sit in a puddle of water all day.

Seating

The roto-molded seat comes complete with an EVA foam padded seat and high-back cushion for comfort and support you'll appreciate after a day of paddling and fighting fish. The cushions are contoured to your body and grooved to rid themselves of excess water and sweat and can be tightened fore and aft.

Deck

The Pompano 120 features three dry hatches—a large compartment in the bow and both a smaller one between your legs and behind the seat that include storage bags. A mesh gear pouch near your hip makes a great place to store smaller fishing gear that you want close at hand. Shock-cord rigging is found at the bow for securing items on top of the deck like a dry bag (sold separately) or jacket. You'll find a handy cup holder, accessory attachment areas, a static line and a paddle park system to secure your paddle when your hands are busy casting or fighting and landing fish. Two molded-in rod holders are located behind the seat so your rods will be out of the way while you're paddling, but easy to grab when you reach your favorite spot. A molded-in recess with scupper holes and shock-cord rigging for a tackle box (sold separately) or other gear is found at the stern. Comfortable carrying handles are also found at the bow, stern and both sides to help with portaging or to provide tie-off points for docking your kayak. There's even a spot mid-ship to add a rod holder mount (sold separately).

Anchor Trolley System

Along the side of the Pompano 120 is an included anchor trolley system that operates like a clothes line and allows you to deploy and retrieve an anchor (sold separately) and bring it close to stow it. Anchoring your kayak lets you adjust and hold your position to account for wind or current or just take a break for lunch.

If you don't already own them or it's time to replace the ones you have, remember to order a kayak paddle and a life jacket (both sold separately) so you'll be ready to start catching your limit as soon as possible!
