Product Overview

At 14’, the Tarpon 140 boasts more gear-carrying capacity and greater speed while maintaining the stability and comfort of smaller-sized kayaks.

Wilderness Systems outfitted this kayak to make your kayaking adventures a breeze. With enough storage to pack gear for a long trip and all the convenient amenities you need to relax or cast. Optimal for adventuring the open ocean, lakes and rivers, this yak pulls along easily while staying straight in wind or currents.

Confidently take the Tarpon 140 on multiday trips, outfit it for fishing or touring―you can’t go wrong any way you decide to customize it. Easy to paddle, excellent tracking and longer and sturdier than the 120, the 140 enjoys the same stability and comfort. Thanks to an innovative seat design to keep you comfortable paddling, fishing or relaxing, you can spend more time on the water doing what you love.

Unparalleled Comfort

The Phase 3® AirPro Sit-On-Top Seat is so comfortable you’ll forget you’re even sitting in a kayak. This innovative design features an ergonomic, contoured seat that flexes for support and adjusts to your specifications. A scalloped, leg lifter raises up and down to support your legs and remove pressure while increasing blood flow. Quickly and easily change the height of the back support to suit your casting, rowing or lounging needs.

The exclusive vented design allows for breathability while simultaneously providing padding and protection to hard contact areas under the legs and along the spine. Additional ventilation and drainage are provided by the small holes on the back rest and seat while simultaneously providing cushioning for your oblique muscles and sit bones.

The Keepers XL Foot Brace system offers larger, “gas pedal” style foot pegs that provide better grip and more control while paddling. You can conveniently and easily adjust the foot pegs for the most comfortable position to suit your needs. Together with the Keepers XL Foot Brace System, this kayak raises the bar for comfort and adjustability. Before you know it, you’ll have spent your entire day on the water.

Balanced Hull

Constructed from strong, high-density polyethylene, the Tarpon’s hull lasts longer in rough waters. Wilderness Systems engineered a flared hull to provide balanced stability and superior tracking while maintaining speed and handling.

Featuring a number of storage options to carry your gear for fishing, cruising or short camping trips. The Tarpon boasts two, large Orbix hatches on the bow and midship for dry storage. The midship Orbix hatch is easily accessible while a large tankwell allows you to carry a cooler, tackle box, or bag securely thanks to the adjustable bungee cord. Finally, midship mesh pockets and a bungee deck rig allow you to store any other gear you may need while a nifty cup holder keeps your beverage close at hand.

Wilderness Systems’ patented SlideTrax™ accessory system allows you to easily outfit and accessorize your kayak without drilling any additional holes. Add rod holders, a Go-Pro mount, a fishfinder mount or whatever else you want—outfit your Tarpon to suit your specific activity needs.
