If you're wearing these shorts all you have to do is grab your board and head out. They have the same durable, quick-drying, mostly recycled nylon and spandex fabric as Patagonia's legendary Stretch Wavefarer Board Shorts, only in a more refined, all-day style like your favorite flat-front chinos. There's a DWR (durable water repellent) finish so they repel moisture and dry quickly. On top of that, they also feature 50+ UPF sun protection so you won't have to cut your surf break short to deal with a sunburn. And their 4-way stretch (up and down and side to side) will keep you from getting in a bind. Did we also mention the fabric is certified as bluesign® approved and sewn at a Fair Trade Certified™ factory? (More on that below.)

This subtle walk-short silhouette features a zippered fly with a durable, interior bartacked drawstring for extra security when you're wiping out in a wave. Belt loops are included in case you fancy wearing a belt when you're ashore. The two front slash pockets and both rear pockets have self-draining mesh pocket bags so your shorts won't hold water and weigh you down. The right-rear pocket has a button closure for security and an internal key loop to ensure you have the key to your microbus when you return to shore. A 20" outseam gives you a more traditional choice and greater sun protection for your legs.

50+ UPF

The Stretch Wavefarer Hybrid Shorts feature a sun protection rating of 50+ UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor), which means only 1/50th of the sun's UV rays that fall on the surface will pass through and reach your skin. The sun protection is built-in so, unlike messy sunscreen, it won't wear off or need to be reapplied throughout the day.
