Boating

Boaters headed out of North Point Marina can easily cruise to Illinois State Beach. It encompasses 6.5 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline with dunes, marshes and a nature preserve showcasing more than 650 plant species. For a longer adventure, boaters can motor north to Kenosha, Wisconsin and explore Southport Marina, which offers fine dining and access to stroll through downtown. West Marine has the boat parts, safety gear, maintenance products and winterizing items boater’s trust.

Fishing

Sport fisherman from around the world come to Lake Michigan in search of the big salmon and trout. Anglers looking to catch yellow perch and bluegill crappie head west to the Chain O’Lakes, which are 15 interconnecting lakes, 45 miles of river and one of the most popular inland waterways in the country. Paddlers turn to West Marine for all their stand-up paddleboard needs. Kayakers can choose from a full assortment of kayaks and kayak gear to explore the area’s islands, lagoons and harbors.
