Over the years I have used several brands of marine sealents and bonding agents. This product hands down is the most reliable and all around useful product I have ever used. I found a great way to get the full use out of a large tube of 5200. Simply take it out of the caulking gun after its original use. Wrap kitchen use plastic wrap around the tip and stick it in the freezer. Its as simple as that. I have had one tube last up to 3 days after multiple uses.

I have used 5200 to bond and seal thry haul fittings and had good reuslts. Last spring I used it to re-caulk my Mahoghany toe rail to the fibreglass. Uncovered the boat this Spring and the 5200 was all cracked, exposing the Seam. 5200 sticks to both wood and fibreglass but elasticity properties are poor. Used Boatlife caulk on part of the job and the seam is still sealed, no cracks.

          Comments about 5200 Polyurethane Adhesive/Sealant:

been a glass bottom boat capt for 30 yrs! dealt with all types of glass and installations ,and huge holes in the bottom of boats,up to 80 ft long and glass bottom area over 250 ft square! changed them many times! bolts are only there till it cures! usually have to use a crowbar and end up breaking glass to remove! for underwater sealing there is nothing better!

                Comments about 5200 Polyurethane Adhesive/Sealant:

I purchased the 5200 for my thru hulls and it seems to be holding , though it was difficult to work with. I purchased more to help secure a strip of 316 SS down the bow edge to help hold the bow sprit / forstay system. It has been nearly eight months and it is as soft as window caulk. It never cured. The stuff is highly overrated.

I mounted a T-top on my center console with this adhesive. The product does what it is suposed to. The fast cure skins over quickly, so be ready and positive about your parts placement.

This can be used in many applications where a strong but semi- flexible bond is needed. Best used where a slow set-up time is needed.

this is the best caulk. do not use the "5200 quick cure" ... it will yellow and come off after time, and it will crack under paint. The original 5200 is the best!
