    Best Uses

    • Deep Gouges

    Comments about Marine Premium Filler:

I'm a complete novice at body work, so initially this product was a little hard for me to manipulate. It looks like you just pulled a years worth of hair from the bath tub drain hole! That said, once I had filled a couple of deep gouges I began to get a method down and felt like I was using this product like a pro. My project turned out almost perfect, after sanding and painting I was more than a little self impressed. I would definitely buy and use again.

      Comments about Marine Premium Filler:

Make sure this is the last thing that goes on; you don't want to apply a resin or glass over this. This material really does a great job finishing your work; shapes easy, holds tight and you can modify your available use time enough for broader applications.

        Comments about Marine Premium Filler:

Great product. Very easy to use, even for a novice. No need to get into the complexity of fiberglass repair with this stuff -- just mix with the hardener, layer it on w/ a putty knife, fair, and off you go. Dries very quickly, easy to sand, just an overall great product.

        Service and delivery comments:

Here's the second part of the review. Service was abysmal. West Marine sent the can out without the creme hardener that is supposed to be included. W/o the hardener, the filler is useless. (They also failed to include the hardener with a can of gelcoat I purchased. Seriously?!) Twice on the phone with customer service, each time I was told it was the manufacturer's fault and they'd have to get back to me. They never did. (Not surprising.) Eventually I went to the local fiberglass-everything store and bought a tube of hardener for $2 (what I should've done with the whole business in the first place). Bottom line: I have no intention of doing business with West Marine again.
