      Comments about Steering Lubrication Systems:

Had marine dealer install , along with new steering cable.Boat 13 years pld, but well kept.Only complaint. When trying to lubricate cable, lubricate leaked out (minamal amount) at conection with bottle.Just beware, when putting in lubricnte have old rags/towels handy to catch any oil that may drip out. Otherwise, definately helped with movement of steering rod/handle (stick steering). Dealer said , unusual for cable to last that long! Testament to Express boats! Other models usualy need to have 3-4 cables replaced in that period of time, especialy in cld weather climates:ie: mid-atlantic region. Why aren't these units installed at time of manufacture??, or at least offered as an option??

        Comments about Steering Lubrication Systems:

I had to cut down the stock retaining nut a little to make this seal fit on my 1990 70hp evinrude. After installing it and testing it out the inner rubber seal came in-attached from the nut and I had to re attach it. Now that it is functioning it does a good job at keeping he lube in the steering assembly and out of the motor well

          Comments about Steering Lubrication Systems:

Seal failed shortly after installation. Just poorly designed. No one should waste their time and money on this one and West Marine should stock something that is reliable.

              Comments about Steering Lubrication Systems:

Seal will not stay in place. It should have been made with a snap ring to retain the seal or the seal should insert from inside the nut. I really wanted this to be a solution, but it is not!
