Comments about Engel 43qt. Portable Refrigerator/Freezer:

I have used this cooler for 8 years on Jeep runs, in my boat and currently for the last 5 years in our outside bar where it has been plugged into 110 v and has run non-stop in freezing to 100 plus F temperatures without a hiccup. It is easily my favorite piece of high end gear for the outdoors. Ran it for a week plugged into my Jeep 12 v (by mistake) and was still able to start the Jeep. Low power draw.

Comments about Engel 43qt. Portable Refrigerator/Freezer:

The Engle is the Mose efficient unit on the market I found in three years of research. Minimal power consumption.5 to 2.5 amp draw, it's daily usage is easily replaced with an 80 watt
Solar panel, combined with LED lighting in my sail boat I have no need for a generator any longer. And I have ice cream if so desired. By far the most satisfying purchase of the last two years. If I had a bigger boat"I'd get a bigger Engle.

Comments about Engel 43qt. Portable Refrigerator/Freezer:

I've owned the Engel Portable Fridge/Freezer for over 4 years.

I bought it when the built-in air-cooled fridge in my boat conked out and I didn't want to install another air-cooled product. I used it as a fridge for one season.

When I finally installed the new watet-cooled fridge at haul out, I set the temperature on the Engel as low as possible, turned it to a dedicated freezer and removed the walled-in sectional freezer in my boat ice box.

Once or twice a year, I moved it to my car when I went on long trip, using it as a fridge or freezer as needed.

The unit worked reliably and quietly. Only on very quiet night that I noticed its fan even though my bunk is only a few feet from it.

Some years I left it running all through winters but I'd rather clean it out, remove the lid of the sliding hinge and put it standing inside it when I don't use the boat.

Overall, I'm very happy with the Engel. It's well worth the 1k I paid for it and the cover.

I use this on lake Powell. Keeps drinks ice cold no more ice runs to marina. I am going to replace frig in galley with engel frig Sb70F. Low amp use 2.5 compared to 10 amps current frig.
