Comments about Trilux 33 Antifouling Paint:

This paint does a great job keeping slime and weeds to a minimum. My boat has twin sterndrives and is in water 6+ months a year. The drives are usually exposed to sun and warm water, perfect conditions for growth. This past season was a test run, I purchased two new sterndrives and DIDNT paint them. Couldn't bring myself to paint stuff that was brand new. Anyways, I did paint the trim rams & gimbals w/ Trilux brush on, 2 coats, not thinned. I also did the props with Trilux spray. The results were staggering. The drives were bright green with growth by the end of the season and the components painted with Trilux were much cleaner.

Application was easy, I'm lazy so I didn't sand or prime anything. The components I painted were already roughed up from corrosion anyway, just I just went right over them. After pressure washing upon haul out, there's only a few tiny spots were the paint let loose. If you have nice new stuff you'll probably want to sand and prime... I'll give them a quick coat in spring before launch and it'll be good to go.

Comments about Trilux 33 Antifouling Paint:

I purchased 3 quarts of this garbage (Trilux 33 in white) to paint 2 pontoon boats this spring, i scraped, painted and primed both, but ran out before i could do the inside of one pontoon. when i pulled them out this fall, after one season in freshwater, there was zebra mussels on the painted sections but not on the bare metal. so this product basically attracts mussels. see picture.

Anti-fouling protection for anything metal underwater.

Comments about Trilux 33 Antifouling Paint:

I've used other anti-fouling paint formulated for metal, as anti-fouling paint designed for fiberglass does not offer any protection metal surfaces. When copper based anti-fouling paint is applied to anything metal, the copper is neutralized; any protection is lost. I've used other products designed to protect metal surfaces. This product out performed

Comments about Trilux 33 Antifouling Paint:

I've been using this on my outdrive for several years. I keep it in a warm car in the sun for a few hours before using since it is a challenge to use at lower temps. The 216 thinner helps for sure. Follow the directions on the can. I usually skip the primer. Protects better than the spray product since you can put it on thicker.

This product is easy to use on the hull and I like how it rolls and stays on even in colder climates. It works in all latitudes and provides a lovely protective shine.

Comments about Trilux 33 Antifouling Paint:

For the last 14 years I have always bought this produce at the store but they were out so I bought the produce on line. It was easy to do but the paint was too thick and did not go on easy. Matter of fact it was hard to paint. Be careful of the temperature when painting. I followed the recommendations but on the low end and found out that I should have painted at a higher temp. This has never happen before so either it was my fault or the paint was to blame.

Comments about Trilux 33 Antifouling Paint:

Beats the spray version hands down! I have professional spray equipment, but you could do a bang-up job with a brush and a little 216 thinner. This is far more economical than buying the Trilux in a spray can. You are able to put on a thicker coat, which seems to last longer and stays more effective against growth. The best anti-foulant for underwater metal I've used in over 30 years.
