I had to replace the OEM part on my 1988 SeaRay as it was only allowing a trickle. Four screws and a little Teflon tape on the pipe fitting later and we're good to go. I noticed a lot of comments about it being flimsy and breaking. I installed a quick-disconnect hose fitting so I don't have to constantly try to screw/unscrew the hose, which is difficult as it is recessed. Old one lasted 24 years, so I really can't complain.

I had to replace the OEM part on my 2001 SeaRay 340DA as it was only allowing a trickle. Perfect fit, Four screws and a little Teflon tape on the pipe fitting 15 minutes later it was finished ( as stated in a previous review).

I am on m 4th one in a little over a year. The silver hose connector pops of very easily. Not a sturdy product. The saving grace is West Marine's return policy.

Gone through 4 of these pieces of (you fill in the blank). They work one day then a trickle. Took it apart and gutted the pressure regulator and have been using it as a non-regulator one-way fresh water hook up valve. Would switch it in a heartbeat if I could find a different brand with the same footprint. It would be my number one bucket list to find the designer of this product and use it for something entirely different!

What angers me most as this came recommeded by West Marine employee-- I trusted him, and did not do my own research. The input fitting would not seal despite trying every gasket under the sun. Wish that had been checked prior to drilling into the deck.

The unit came apart at the connector end. The hose was supported and a second pressure regulator was fitted at the water tap (40 psi) to prevent damage to the hose. There was no side load on the connector nor was there excessive pressure. Replacement requires extensive fabrication because of the location on the boat. This unit lasted only three years and has been used in-frequently. The previously installed regulator lasted for nearly 30 years.

Good replacement however the Jabsco faceplate was slightly smaller than the Shurflow I replaced. Screw holes did match ones uncovered when the Shurflow was removed. Apparently the Shurflow on my boat had replaced a JABSCO previously. Fortunately the fiberglass was still in good condition where the old one was removed and a couple dabs of white silicone sealer on the existing screw holes made it virtually unoticeable. It would be nice to have an adapter ecustion to cover the marks from where the larger Shurflow was removed.
