Comments about Flush-Pro Engine Flushing/Winterizing System:

I have used this product for 7 years on a 42 ft inboard with crusaders and a 24 foot i/o bowrider in fresh water for winterization and salt water for flushing without any problems.. Install must be in a straight line segment of intake hose to avoid torque strain. Importantly, never leave a pressurized water source connected to your boat boat when not attended. Many boats have been sunk from fresh water sources blowing out the low water pressure systems aboard boats when the onboard pressure reduction valve on the boat fails.

Installed in June of 2013,used the boat for one season, flushed, basic winter maintenance, stored the boat in a heated garage. Did minor repairs over the coarse of the winter and when I hooked up the hose to flash her up, under medium pressure it blew apart in the first 30 seconds. No lake for me this weekend. :-(

I have these installed on a boat I recently purchased with twin inboard Crusader 350's. Both have failed since purchase of the boat. When the engine is shutoff and the pressurized hose is still attached, the back pressure will eventually separate the two plastic cups that contain the check valve. I have replaced one so far. The new one has a clamp holding the two plastic pieces together which should the durability substantially. Interestingly, the instructions say for an in-water boat, seacock must still be closed to prevent raw water intrusion (e.g. the check value won't seal completely), which in my mind kind of defeats the purpose of the product.

Comments about Flush-Pro Engine Flushing/Winterizing System:

I have twin 502 engines. I have had to replace each Perko installed twice on one engine and just recently a third one on the other engine. This all within the last 12 months. Failed (breaks) where the two parts join together and are held by the two screws through the plastic hinges. Very poor design! Lost several weeks of boating because of them.

Comments about Flush-Pro Engine Flushing/Winterizing System:

I like the concept however the quality is horrible. I will buy a new one and seal the two halves with gorilla glue since the two jewelry size screws that hold the whole together suck. Perko should have sealed the halves together during manufacturing.

Comments about Flush-Pro Engine Flushing/Winterizing System:

Used for twin 8.1L Mercruisers. Worked great for few years but cracked and started leaking into bilge. Leak got so bad I noticed excessive bilge action and lifted hatch. I rigged hoses from the flush-pro into my fender locker so I wouldn't have to lift the engine hatch after each outing to flush. Poor design and quality. Why hasn't Perko improved this or pulled it? As bad as it is I will buy another pair cause manifolds are $3.000+ to replace.

            Danger, DO NOT BUY

            About Me Advanced

Comments about Flush-Pro Engine Flushing/Winterizing System:

I bought and istalled two of these engine flush valves with no problem in a twin engine boat. After several uses one of them split in two at the joint where the two halves of the plastic body come together. There is a press fit between two pieces of plastic with no threads or other means of holding this unit together. This failure allowed the intake water to pour into the boat, and had I not been in the boat using it at the time it could have very well sank the boat at a mooring or dock. Very dissapointed that Perko would put out a product so poor in design.

Plastic construction started leaking after 5 years and almost sunk my boat.
