Comments about Halyard Restrainer Bracket:

I wish they'd warned me about the large diameter mast required. I bent it closed in a vise to get it to work and it does prevent halyard wrap on my 24' sportboat. a simple fairlead would have been better.

    Comments about Halyard Restrainer Bracket:

    I have a 26'Oday sailboat with 2 external halyards.
I wanted to rig a spinnaker (add a third halyard) so I hung a block from the top of the mast, but I had one big problem, the halyard kept getting wrapped up in the furler whenever I unfurled or furled the jib.
So I installed this high quality stainless steel halyard restrainer bracket near the top of my mast. My halyard now runs up from the aft section of the mast (behind the spreaders) up through this halyard restrainer bracket, up to the block hanging off the bail on the front of my mast and then down to the spinnaker. The bell shape to the bracket provides a smooth fairlead and holds the halyard away from the furler swivel. I haven't actually used it yet since the boat is still out of the water but it looks like it will do the job nicely.

    spinnaker wrapping on furler

    Comments about Halyard Restrainer Bracket:

I am currently having a problem with my spinnaker halyard wrapping up in my furler. I added the spinnaker by attaching a block up at the top of the mast. I expect this part to hold the halyardaway from the top of the furling gear so that it does not get fouled. I hope it works!
