DO NOT USE FOR BELOW WATERLINE !

By captainbruce

About Me Professional

Verified Reviewer

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Easy To Install

Cons

  • Cracks Very Easily
  • Flimsy
  • Leaks

Best Uses

  • In A Showrooom

This hose will routinely crack at the connector where it flexes. It seems like the perfect hose, but the vinyl wall thickness is way to thin (hence the flexibility). Use this below the waterline and risk sinking your boat.

Comments about Shields Rubber Series 141 Multiflex Hose, 1-1/8"id; 1" Minimum Bend Radius:

Just what I was looking for as a hose for the bilge pump in my whitewater canoe. Smooth hose is more efficient than corrugated hose so this lets me get more water out of my canoe in a shorter period of time.

Comments about Shields Rubber Series 141 Multiflex Hose, 3/4"id; Minimum Bend Radius:

West marine employee suggest this for through hulls on my sailboat. The 1" is an extremely tight fit and is quite flexible for the tight bilge area. but as im looking at westmarines catalog description, it states not for through hull below water line use... Oh well, back to west marine.
