I've used the M-T brand for over 20 years and tried this West offering a few years ago to compare the two, and save a few bucks. I honestly think if there was no label on the containers, you couldn't tell the 2 brands apart. But for review sake, I'll limit my comments to just the West Rx brand.
I've used this many times for filling fiberglass and Coosa (composites). I've filled up to up 1 inch holes a 1/2" deep with one application on vertical surfaces with no curing issues. It mixes easily and once cured, is easy to sand, drill, or finish. The white blends in so well with some fiberglass repairs, it doesn't require any paint after an ultra fine sand and polish. Not really a con for this product since the instructions warn you, but it hardens to a slick, glossy finish. So when you have to apply multiple layers to build up or level an area, sand lightly between coats.
As far as the negative reviews about having to mix the entire contents it once or it didn't mix well, one is wrong and the other is just operator error. OK, the instructions say mix both containers. But if you don't need that much, just mix as much as you need- my 8 year old son could figure out the ratio. My last containers lasted over 2 years once opened till I needed them again.
I recently used it to epoxy a hold-down bracket for a small fuel tank, not wanting to screw/bolt into a sensitive area. Apprehensive of it's adhesion and strength for only a 2" x 2" footprint, I tested the bracket by trying to pull it out with a wooden 2X4. It wouldn't budge with 2 of us pulling on it until the bracket started to deform, incredible.
I highly recommend this product.

it would be much more economical to be able to do a 1/2 batch at a time, workable time is limited thus you waste part of the product or the ratio's are in correct and the batch is either to brittle (after Curing) or visa versa. Thus a waste of money & time!!!!

Comments about West Marine Marine Rx Epoxy Repair Kit, 14 oz.:

Used it on the rivets that were leaking inside and outside of our aluminum Jon boat. We ruffed the surface of every rivet and holes in aluminum, cleaned surface with MEK, then applied MarineRX. Boat never leaked again!

Comments about West Marine Marine Rx Epoxy Repair Kit, 14 oz.:

I purchase these poxy to cover holes, scratch, spider web that just stared appearing on my boat. I have a 96 angler is fairly old and now is in need of some tlc with spider cracks that are appearing so I use this product, it work wonders!!!! I love it! Get hard very quick, however I didn't like the fact that I have to really spread it to get in some holes and scratches to be able to leave it behind smooth and looking like part of the actual factory looking. Other then that it worked wonders, can't really tell where I use it, my holes are cover and the scratches, best part I didn't even have to file it!!!!

Comments about West Marine Marine Rx Epoxy Repair Kit, 14 oz.:

Can't easily mix small batches. If large quantities are not mixed well, you will have uncured craters in finished product when sanding smooth. Not sure if it is any worse than Marine Tek product, as I haven't used that. Picture shows craters being filled with bonds.
