I have numerous screws on my topside deck of my 2000 Beneteau Oceanis 461 that have started having an occasional drip. No surprise since the boat is 15 years old and spent 8 years in the tropics as a charter boat. I have started removing and re-sealing them and so far, no leaks at all where I've been working and we've had a lot of heavy rain! Just as good as the more expensive 3M stuff!

The small squeeze-type tube is terrible. The cap includes a sharp point for breaking the seal on the tube, but once broken, the seal becomes a flap that keeps obstructing the flow of the sealant. Unscrew the applicator cap, clear, repeat, repeat, repeat. What a mess. The 3M tube doesn't do this.

                  Comments about Marine Silicone Sealant:

Silicone sealant is a great product for the right application. I love 3M 5200, but sometimes that is just too much for the job at hand. Silicone is usually my back-up to the 5200 product.
